Starting Step 2 - Cleansing


Cleansing.

Not just for a few days but for 3 - 6 months.

There are four ways your body expels toxins -

  • Bowels - wants me to have minimum 2 BMs/day

  • Note: Our bodies naturally hang on to about 1/2 of what we are getting rid of (not helpful in this situation) and Charcoal binds and expels the other 1/2 that would typically stay behind.

  • Breath - caution contamination of others on exhale

  • Urine - watch hydration

  • Sweat - exercise, FIR Sauna (30 mins 2-3x/wk at 125 degrees), peat mud/peloid therapy, Epsom salt baths.

There are two that I am to concentrate on -

  • Bowels (cleansing through prescribed eating and charcoal)

  • Sweat (sauna) and increase exercise as I am feeling better showering directly after.

The eating plan that accompanies this is (per meal) 10 g Fiber, 10-20g Protein, 33% Complex Carbs (otherwise low carbs) and lots of vegetables, little fruit and good fats. Make weekly treat with stevia/xylitol.

There are many Omega-3's that can help in this process and I am already taking Milk Thistle and Vitamin D3, which both have some Omega 3's.

There are items to avoid like -

  • Fermenting foods such as chocolate, black tea, soy sauce, beer, wine, spirits, cheese and milk with lactade (I understand this is avoid dairy except eggs and lactose free milk.)

  • Dried fruit and fruit juice

  • Processed foods like frozen dinners, bread-sourdough, malted cereals, deli meats.

  • Refined or white foods

  • No sugar including additives except stevia and xylitol

  • Contaminated foods (i.e., moldy)

  • Soft drinks

So I have spent hours putting together an Excel sheet (this is how I need to make sense of things) to design meals that are approximate to the above.

I am not yet done with that task, but will give you an idea of what it looks like next time!
